Helping Her Achieve Career Goals

Hannah (Dinnan) Mithoefer had an interest in the health care field since high school. But it was witnessing how her father was treated when he was ill that made her want to pursue it as a career.

“I wanted to make an impact in the way that I saw many nurses and doctors did for my father when he had cancer,” said Mithoefer. “I found that health care settings present such a unique platform to love people when they are both physically and emotionally hurting.”

Mithoefer, from Midland, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Central Michigan University. Her hope is to work as a physical therapist in either pediatric or neurological settings. Her long-term goals are to become a pediatric clinical specialist and to own her own practice. A scholarship from The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund is helping her achieve those goals.

“Receiving the Bailey scholarship has been such a blessing and encouragement to me in my education, and my goal of becoming a physical therapist,” said Mithoefer. “It has motivated me to continue to work hard and do my best in order to show respect to the Baileys and everyone in this award process. I am very grateful and humbled.”

The Bernard F. and Melissa Anne Bailey Family Fund is an endowment fund given to MyMichigan Health to administer as a student scholarship program for those area individuals interested in pursuing professional schooling in a health-related profession.
