Thelma Orr Memorial Scholarship

Eligible applicants must:

• Be a resident of the following Michigan counties: Alpena, Alcona, Iosco, Montmorency, Oscoda or Presque Isle
• Be a second year or beyond student enrolled in a human medicine related field
• Be enrolled in an accredited Michigan college or university
• Not have received the scholarship previously
• The Scholarship Committee may request an interview with the applicant

Electronic applications for the upcoming school year will be accepted beginning March 1^st of each year with the deadline of May 1^st. Applications and support documentation will only be accepted electronically. To apply, complete the following steps:

1. Complete the online Thelma Orr Memorial Scholarship application - Please check back on March 1, 2025.
2. You will receive an email confirmation that the application has been received.
3. Submit required documentation to orr.scholarship@mymichigan.org
   • Subject Line - First & Last Name - Thelma Orr Scholarship Application
4. Please submit the following with your application:
   • One recommendation letter from a teacher or professor
   • One recommendation letter from an employer or personal reference
   • An official current transcript. Official transcripts must be submitted directly by the applicants school and sent to orr.scholarship@mymichigan.org

All items of the application are due in full by May 1. Applicants can anticipate a response regarding the status of their applications during the month of June. Any questions can be sent to orr.scholarship@mymichigan.org.
