Family Medicine Residency Programs in Alma and Midland, Michigan
MyMichigan Health offers two Family Medicine Residency Programs. Both are unopposed, three-year allopathic programs affiliated with the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.
Alma
The MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma Family Medicine Residency Program was created specifically with a focus on rural medicine. It is ideal for family doctors who are interested in the unique challenges and rewards of practicing medicine in a rural community. The intimate size of this program provides excellent access to faculty and all aspects of clinical care, plus the ability to tailor your training to meet your needs.
Midland
MyMichigan Medical Center Midland Family Medicine Residency Program was one of the first programs in the United States to offer residency training in family medicine, receiving accreditation from the ACGME in 1969. It is an unopposed community-based program with daily office hours in a multi-disciplinary clinic with PCMH recognition. The location offers the benefits of a larger medical center that includes Level 2 trauma, SICU, neuro and medical ICUs, while having access to rural training in surrounding areas.
