Wellness Time
Residency program recognizes the importance to attend medical, dental, and behavior health appointments and provides resident time to attend. Wellness time does not count against vacation on days off.
The residency program also sponsors several retreats each academic year with residents, faculty, and administration. In addition, there are a minimum of (2) program sponsored resident only wellness retreats.
Laptop
A laptop is provided for use for inpatient service.
iPad
Each resident receives an iPad, making it easy to access information on the go.
Uniforms & Meals
Each resident receives (2) White Coats with free laundry service.
Each resident receives $1300 each year as meal allowance.
Electronic Medical Record
Clinic and MyMichigan Health, labs, radiology images and dictated reports are accessible online from any site with an internet connection. Ability to check-up on patients' from the comfort of your own home!
Hospital Amenities
Residency program has private call rooms with TV's! A lounge designated for the residents provides individual workstations, comfortable furniture, refrigerator, microwave, TV, beverages and snacks.
The health system provides a 24/7 gym for all employees.
Highland Café is onsite with 24/7 access to all employees.
Educational Meetings
Each resident will receive CME monies for use for approved leadership and national conferences.
Professional Organizations
The residency program covers registration for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Also, covered is registration to the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. All residents have the option to join the American Medical Association (AMA).
Licensure
Our program covers the cost of each residents Michigan Limited Physician and Controlled Substance licenses.
Online Medical Material
The program pays for AAFP board prep and Rosh question banks.
Certifications
ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation, and PALS certification will be covered by the program at no cost to the resident.
Insurance Benefits
A managed-care preferred provider plan, dental, vision and life insurance is available for resident, spouse and minor children effective the first of the month following the date of employment. Short-term and long-term disability coverage is provided for each resident after twelve months of employment.
Moving Expenses
Relocation and moving expenses up to $1,500 are available to incoming residents. Mileage, meals and temporary lodging will be reimbursed as a taxable benefit.
