Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program

Arturas Klugas, M.D., earned his doctor of medicine degree from Kaunas University of Medicine in Kaunas, Lithuania and completed his residency training at the Family Medicine Residency Program at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. Before joining Family Medicine Residency Alma, Dr. Klugas served as a physician and faculty member at the Midland Family Medicine Residency. He is an Assistant Professor through the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Family Medicine Department.

Dr. Klugas completed the University of Michigan Faculty Development Fellowship in 2010. He is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

Faculty Physician

Jenna Bernson, M.D., earned her doctor of medicine degree from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine. She completed residency in Family Medicine at MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. Afterwards, she joined as a faculty physician at the residency program. Jenna is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. 

Dr. Bernson has special interest in mental health, inpatient medicine, endocrinology, and lifestyle medicine.

She lives with her partner and their four trouble-making felines. She enjoys playing piano and flute, painting, decorating for holidays, and playing board games

Faculty Physician

Egle Klugiene, M.D., earned her doctor of medicine degree from Kaunas University of Medicine in Kaunas, Lithuania and is a graduate of the Family Medicine Residency Program at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, where she also worked as a faculty physician for almost five years. She joined the faculty at MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma Residency Program in 2017. Dr. Klugiene has successfully completed the University of Michigan Faculty Development Institute Fellowship Program. She has special interest in Women’s Health and Procedural Training. She is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

When not at MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma Residency Program, she works as a family physician at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. Her greatest joy at work is teaching residents. She is also a proud mother to two amazing boys. Her oldest son is currently attending Michigan State University. Go Green!

Faculty Physician

Vanessa LaRouche, M.D., graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2019 and completed her residency training in Family Medicine at MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma in 2022. She joined the core faculty at the program as a board-certified physician in Family Medicine after completion of residency and became board certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in December 2022. She is a life-long Michigander, growing up in Bay City and attending Alma College before medical school. Her husband, Matt, has a background in elementary education. They have two sons: Teddy, who enjoys being a big brother, and Baby Davy, who enjoys cuddles. As a family, they enjoy traveling, fishing, kayaking, and swimming in the warm months; pumpkins and scary movies in the fall; and sledding and skiing in the winter.

Faculty Physician

Jeremy Moeggenberg, PsyD., earned his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2011. He completed his residency internship through Meier Clinic of Wheaton, IL. Dr. Moeggenberg joined the joined the faculty at MSU/MyMichigan Medical Center Alma Residency Program in 2024. He has held privileges with MyMichigan Medical Center Alma since 2020 where he also consults for neuropsychology.

In addition to his role with the MSU/Gratiot Residency Program, he works out of his private practice clinic in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Dr. Moeggenberg is an avid sailor, golfer, cyclist and enjoys traveling during his off hours.
