The Cancer Center at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena is a comprehensive cancer center offering chemotherapy, infusion and medical oncology services, as well as radiation oncology. The Center provides the broadest range of medical oncology services available in any clinic setting today. These include:
- Intravenous fluids for re-hydration
- Antibiotics
- Chemotherapy
- Specialty medications
- Blood and platelet transfusions
- Intravenous iron replacement
- Genetic Testing - Appointments with the Genetics Counselor will be done virtually via a telemedicine visit.
Targeted therapies to treat a variety of conditions include:
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Crohn’s disease
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Immune disorders
In addition to infusions, nurses are available to assist with dressing changes, maintenance and care for central lines and implanted ports, as well as obtaining blood specimens for laboratory tests that may be ordered.
