About

The Inpatient Psychiatric program at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland provides short-term acute psychiatric help to people who need 24-hour care and monitoring. Our facility offers a lively, attractive, homelike setting where patients and staff work together as a team and every patient is treated with compassion and dignity. We also involve families as part of our philosophy of care.

Patients are screened for other health problems at admission and make appropriate referrals to treat any conditions that may impact recovery.

Our facilities offer a safe, confidential environment and are designed to promote daily and growth of self-reliance, two important aspects of the recovery process.

Services Include

  • Psychiatric and nursing evaluation
  • Daily psychiatric management
  • Individual sessions with a psychiatrist
  • One-on-one counseling, focused on problem solving and/or techniques and medication education
  • Group therapy sessions geared toward situation management, recreation and leisure development, and key skills such as stress management, self-esteem, coping and assertiveness
  • Recreational and activity therapy
  • Physical and occupational therapy (as needed)
  • Medication management

Visiting Hours

  • Visiting hours are from 3 - 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Due to limited visiting space, the time frame has been organized as follows. Please check in with the nurse's station upon arrival for further information.
    • Patients in rooms 1801 - 1808 visit from 3 - 4 p.m.
    • Patients in rooms 1809 - 1816 visit from 4 - 5 p.m. 
  • Each inpatient is allowed 2 healthy adult visitors.
