The Pediatric Rehabilitation Services offers a full range of pediatric services designed to help children of all ages reach their highest level of developmental function. Our therapists work in collaboration with parents and other caregivers to help children develop and enhance their physical, communication, behavioral and functional skills. This includes evaluating and treating children with a variety of orthopedic, neurological and developmental impairments, as well as those with speech, language, memory, swallowing or neurological disorders.
We offer specialized treatment for children of all ages which incorporates therapeutic play and recreational activities to address the individual goals of the child and family. Therapists work closely with physicians, schools and early intervention providers to optimize the function of the child.
Members of the pediatric rehabilitation team include occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists that work together on a coordinated plan of care for each child.
Types of Therapy Offered
Occupational Therapy
Pediatric occupational therapists evaluate and treat children 0-18 years old and focus on fine motor control, visual motor and perceptual skills, self-help skills, cognitive skills, sensory processing and feeding skills. These activities promote functional independence in self-care, play and school. Occupational therapists may provide orthopedic splinting or positioning.

Physical Therapy
Pediatric physical therapists evaluate and treat children with a variety of orthopedic, neurological and developmental impairments. Physical therapists are movement specialists and address gross motor skills, strength, flexibility, motor control and posture for enhanced functional abilities and maximum independence with functional mobility. Physical therapists also work together with orthotists and medical equipment providers to obtain orthotics and seating/mobility equipment.

Speech Therapy
Pediatric speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat a variety of pediatric patients for speech, language, memory, swallowing and neurological disorders that interfere with communication. Speech and language therapists use advanced techniques to help children achieve maximum communication capability, functional capacity and social potential.
