About

Sleep is essential to health. Chronic sleep problems affect every aspect of life, from physical well-being to economics and public safety. Our Sleep Medicine office can diagnose and treat those who have difficulties with sleep. The inability to fall asleep, disruptions in staying asleep, and even the tendency to fall asleep at inappropriate times are all conditions our experts are prepared to address.
For many conditions, diagnosis begins with a sleep evaluation by a sleep specialist, followed in many cases by a sleep study. Some sleep studies are performed in our Sleep Disorders Lab and others at home. Through this process, we can evaluate patients for:
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Poor quality sleep
- Abnormal sleep/wake rhythm
- Snoring/sleep apnea
- Oxygenation/breathing problems
- Movements during sleep
