Physician Expertise
MyMichigan Health has more than 400 credential physicians in more than 30 specialties and subspecialties. Every three years, MyMichigan Health doctors complete 150 hours of continuing medical education, as monitored by the Michigan Board of Medicine.
In addition, almost every physician with privileges at MyMichigan Health is either board-certified or board-eligible, well above the national average of 89 percent according to the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
Family Medicine is the specialty of most “primary care” or “family doctors.” MyMichigan Health has long recognized the importance of this, the most common of medical specialties. In fact, MyMichigan Medical Center Midland established the first Family Medicine Residency Program in the state of Michigan, and one of the earliest in the United States, in the 1969. Many area physicians are graduates of this well-respected program.
